A few weeks ago I published a Personalized Heart Baby Name Blanket for 4-5 letter names, but I didn’t want to leave out those with longer names, so I’ve published a second pattern for people with 6-8 letters in their name. Unfortunately, I was unable to do more than 8 letters without completely reworking the pattern.
You can purchase the Personalized Heart Baby Name Blanket (6-8 letters) here for $4.99. Currently different patterns have to be purchased for the different sizes because they use different sized letters.

My college friend, Lindsey, is always willing to accept one more crocheted blanket from me, so I asked her what colors she wanted and she volunteered to be the guinea pig for this pattern. (Lindsey still has the blanket I made her nearly 15 years ago that she grudgingly shares with her cat, Leon. I should have made Leon a matching name blanket….ideas….)
This blanket is again worked using the corner-to-corner crochet method. This time I chose to use yarns in a lighter worsted-weight. I used Paintbox Simply Aran yarn because of the wide range of colors available. This made the blanket slightly smaller than the 4-5 name blanket, but the beauty of this type of pattern is that you can make it in any color or weight that you want. Guage is not important on a blanket.

This type of pattern is fun because every blanket is unique! Try using a variagated yarn for the heart or background for some extra pizzazz.
If you were making this blanket for a boy, what type of shape would you use instead of a heart? My brain is going a mile a minute thinking what to do.
Until next time,
Peace out, Heidi
