My mom tried to teach me how to crochet when I was young. It didn’t work. She was a crafter and an artist and had a craft fair business with my grandparents and aunt…among the other duties of raising a family and working.
Now retired, my mom is still a crafter. Her craft of choice is knitting.
I wish I could knit like my mom. I can knit, but only with a basic understanding. She makes beautiful sweaters, blankets, socks, and so much more.
If I drop a stitch in knitting, I might as well throw the project out the window because there is no way I’ll ever be able to fix it. My mom could fix it for me.
So what do chickens have to do with my mom?
She just finished knitting her first emotional support chicken!
The pattern and kit came from The Knitting Tree LA. The site has a wide variety of chickens in different colorways and witty names like Hennifer Lopez and CHICKolas Cage. The chicken Mom made is Baraawk Obama! The kit comes with everything you need to make the chicken except for the stuffing.
In my opinion, there is only one thing that would make this product better: a crochet pattern!
But wait, there’s more!
A glance at the website today revealed the Crochet Emotional Support Chicken! Should I? Shouldn’t I? I just might.
Why an emotional support chicken? According to The Knitting Tree website, “Life is hard! We all need a chicken to make it better!”
I couldn’t agree more.
Are you planning to make an emotional support chicken? I’d love to see it! If I end up crocheting my own, I’ll be sure to post pictures, too.
Peace Out, Heidi
