“Flowers are like friends; they bring color to your world.”–unknown
And so the perfect gift for friends is…flowers.
When I saw this Flower Shoppe Afghan kit from Herrschners, Inc., I knew I had to make it. It took some time, but the result is AMAZING.
With the sun shining through the window on an early spring day, the flowers shone with the light that I hope this blanket brings into the lives of those I’m gifting it to.
As I kit, I would rate this one at about a 7/10. There was plenty of yarn to complete the pattern (even with me using the wrong green on one part), and for the most part, the instructions were well written. There were a couple of times that the instructions weren’t clear to me and took a while for me to figure out. I consider myself to be an advanced crocheter, so I do worry that someone with less experience might give up on the pattern at certain points.
As with any type of “granny square” pattern, it took time to assemble the blanket and there were TONS of ends to weave in–all worth the effort in my opinion.
As I was making each hexigon, I did wonder if some of these colors would work well together. They certainly did.
If you’re interested in this kit or pattern, you can find it here. (I receive no compensation for sharing this link. Just a help to my readers.)
This blanket definitely proved to me that beauty is in the details.
Flower power. Peace out–Heidi
