Sometimes I scroll through Ravelry or Pinterest in search of a pattern I’ve never seen or made before (yes, there are still a few of those). I’m looking for the perfect mix of modern and classic.
This week, I found a new favorite. Introducing the Bakewell Baby Blanket. The free pattern by Jollijenni & Chlola can be found here.
There is so much I love about this blanket–the diamonds, the bobbles, the way it is worked in a square. I imagined it would be a difficult pattern to learn, but after a few rows, I got the hang of it. It uses simple stitches that even a novice can conquer.
I used Lion Brand Ice Cream Yarn in Blueberry. It took two plus a little skeins of yarn. I omitted the first round of the border (because I was running out of yarn), but was still able to finish the last row of the bobble border.
I just can’t get over how sweet and delicate this blanket is. The finished size is 29″ square.
What color would you choose for your Bakewell Blanket? The pattern could definitely be continued to any size.
This blanket is currently for sale for $50
