The Lion Brand I Wanna Make a Blankie yarn is so soft and squishy I want to carpet my whole house in it and make yarn angels on the floor. It seriously is like a big, warm hug.
I had so much fun making the Squishy Square Baby Blankie that I decided to take my other cake of yarn and make a variation of it. Thus, the Squishy Round Baby Blankie was born.
Note: This yarn was still plagued with haphazard joins. I had just enough yarn left over that those could be fixed if you choose. For my full review of this yarn, see this post.
Squishy Round Baby Blankie Pattern
Yarn: 1 cake of Lion Brand I Wanna Make a Blankie yarn. For this pattern I used the Calluna color way.
Hook: I used a M/N (9 mm) hook.
Finished size: 36” diameter
Gauge: 4” diameter after row 2
Abbreviations:
Ch-chain
Sc-single crochet
BPSC-back post single crochet (see special stitches)
Dc-double crochet
sl st- slip stitch
reverse sc-reverse single crochet (see special stitches)
YO-yarn over
Special Stitches:
BPSC—Insert hook from back to front around the indicated stitch. YO and pull up a loop. YO and pull through both loops on hook.
Reverse Single Crochet—With right side facing, insert hook from front to back in previous stitch. YO and pull up a loop. YO and pull through both loops on hook.

Round 1: Ch 4. Sl st to first ch to form a ring. Ch 2 (counts as dc here and throughout), 11 dc in ring. Sl st to the top of the ch 2. (12 st)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 BPSC around the same st. 2 BPSC around each st around. Sl st to first BPSC. (24 st)
Round 3: Ch 2, dc in same st. Dc in next st. [2 dc in next st, dc in next st] around. Sl st to top of ch 2. (36 st)
Round 4: Ch 2, dc in same st. Dc in next 2 st. [2 dc in next st, dc in next 2 st] around. Sl st to top of ch 2. (48 st)
Round 5: Ch 1, 2 BPSC around the same st. BPSC around the next 3 st. [2 BPSC around next st. BPSC around next 3 st] around. Sl st to first BPSC. (60 st)
