It took a year, but I finally have a name or my 2019 Temperature Blanket. I’m calling it the Split-Square Temperature Blanket. When I started it at the beginning of the year, I had a vision for what it would be, but I had no idea how it would actually turn out.
It turned out better than I could have imagined.
Today I took the time to finalize the pattern, so that you can make your own Split-Square Temperature in 2020 if you want. You can find the pattern free on the blog here or you can buy a printable PDF with all of the information in one place and bonus weather tracking pages for $1.99 here.
Unsurprisingly, January and February were the coldest months. Suprisingly, the warmest single temperature for the year came in September. Overall, I would say it was a mild year. We had only a few days above 90 degrees and only a few times that the temperature was even below 10 degrees.
Here’s a look at all of the squares.
I joined them with wrong sides together (except the one that somehow got turned around) with a [sc, ch1] in the ch 1 spaces in the square in month order. For the border I continued the pattern around the outside.
The pattern was definitely easier than my 2018 version, but it still had it’s difficulties. There were like A MILLION ends to weave in. Lots and Lots of ends.
It was worth it though. I love the final result. The blanket itself is solid and warm.
What will you make for 2020?
