Blankets

Cloudsoft Spiral

By now you know that I have a problem with yarn—I buy it. Lots of it. Recently, I visited one of my favorite yarn sites (probably after getting an email)—Herrschners—where they were having a sale on bulk yarns. I picked a color I liked and bought a bag of 10 skeins of Cloudsoft yarn. I’ve never used this yarn before, but I like it. It is softer than a cloud, and, the best part? All of the skeins have an easy to pull center!

The skeins are small, but they go a long way. I only used 5 skeins to make a blanket, which means I still have enough for one more. That’s a bargain!

I must admit, I had no idea what I was going to make with this yarn, so I headed to Pinterest and found a new pattern that I liked. The amazing thing about this pattern is that it looks really complicated, but it’s not hard at all and once you get the pattern down, you can make it as big or small as you want.

The free pattern for the Spin Me Around blanket by Catherine Bligh is available on Ravelry.

The pattern is called Spin Me Around by Catherine Bligh and would work for many different yarns and colors. It is worked as one piece. After 5 skeins of yarn, my blanket measured 32” in diameter, a great size to cuddle baby with or to put on the floor for tummy time.

This pattern is available on Ravelry as a free PDF download.

The original pattern is worked in a beautiful variegated yarn, but this soft teal makes a great gift for either boy or girl, and did I mention it’s soft? It is soft—you might even say, Cloudsoft!
