When I was growing up, our city had a service called Time & Temperature. There was a number we could call (on our corded phone). The only thing it did was tell you what time it was and what the temperature was. Ahhh…the things we had to go through before the Internet really was a thing.
I am part of the in between generation. I didn’t grow up with the Internet. It wasn’t available everywhere until I was in college. I did grow up with computers as we were always sent the outdated computer from my dad’s office.
It’s *cough* twenty years later, and the time and temperature still have a lot in common. In this case the time it takes to crochet my temperature blanket.
My 2019 Temperature Blanket takes significantly less time than my 2018 did. I think it is attainable for anyone. I can catch up on a few days in less than half an hour. For a year-long project, this is a good amount of time.
I have 15 days done on my temperature blanket. I’m still really enjoying the pattern. I enjoy the contrast between the lows and the highs. The colors are nothing like I would have imagined, but it is really growing on me.
I can tell now that my squares are going to need blocked. Because of all the ends in two corners, the corners without will need stretched a little bit. Absolutely nothing a little blocking can’t help.
At 15 rounds, my square is measuring 6.5 inches. It is right on track to be between 13 and 14 inches when complete. I feel like I’m always looking for ways to make my temperature blankets small. I think this will succeed in being a nice size for draping over the back of the couch. It will be a warm, cozy one for sure.
Are you crocheting a temperature blanket? I’d love to see it. Post a picture on my Facebook page.
