Compared to last year, my first three days of my new blanket are tiny. It honestly took me longer to sew in my ends than it did to crochet it.
Here in Western Pennsylvania, we started the New Year with temps in the 60s. That yellow at the center of the square is unlikely to appear again for quite some time. Here’s a breakdown:
January 1 – High 60, low 34
Jan. 2 – High 39, low 33
Jan. 3 – High 40, low 28
The colors so far are a little shocking! But that’s what the temperature blanket is about–choosing colors in an eclectic, random fashion.
If you remember from the original pattern, each round covers one day. Half of each round is the low, half is the high.
After three days, my square is still a little less than 2″. I think that puts me right on track.
Here is a reminder of my color scale:
I’m interested to see what this blanket becomes. It really will be quite a surprise since no one can predict the weather.
Temperature Blanket 2018
Speaking of predictions, I way underestimated the amount of yarn I would need for my 2018 temperature blanket. If you decide to make this pattern, I suggest buying at least two skeins of each color. I have finished through November 8 and have just ordered yarn for the third time in three weeks. Third times a charm, right?
