Two years ago, my husband gave me graph paper for Christmas. That may seem like an odd gift to you, but I was actually very touched by his thoughtfulness. I had been making a pattern of my own using the filet crochet method, and he cared enough and remembered and gifted me the paper as an encouragement.
Sometimes he really surprises me.
Today, I grabbed that paper and started the initial planning for my next crochet along.
This time we will be making the Alphabet Block Baby Blanket. The idea itself is not at all unique, but my method of making it is. We will build one block at a time joining as we go. If you’ve made my Color Block Blanket, you’ll be familiar with the method.
This crochet along will begin August 14 and will go for 5 weeks.
I had Herrschners Teddy Bear yarn left from my Sunflower Baby Blanket, so I know my blanket will be colorful and soft. You can pick two colors or five or self striping yarn like Lion Brand Mandala.
Who’s with me? Will you crochet your ABCs with me?
