It started cloudy. Then it rained. After a while, the sun came out, and it was hot and muggy.
An hour before the end of the event, the school principal got out a megaphone to warn us of an impending storm. As I put the last item in my van, the torrential downpour began.
It was a crazy day for a craft fair, but it was great.
I had everything set up an hour early and made my first sale. While I was setting up, I was amazed (ashamed?) at what two years worth of crochet items looked like. There was just something about seeing it all in one place that made me question if my hobby was actually an obsession.
But I decided to do the fair because I had so many items in stock. I came home with most of them.
There’s more to a craft fair than just selling items. I made friends with people in the booths next to me, and some great contacts. I saw lots of friends and friends of friends.
The event itself was run by the local Christian school as a community outreach. It is fun to be in a community that enjoys being together.
There might not be a bunch of my items out in the community, but hopefully a few more people now know of The Hazelnut Skein.
