In Like a Lion – March 2018 Temperature Blanket

One quarter done with my 2018 Temperature Blanket.

Weaving in ends (A poem with a nod to Dr. Seuss)

Weave in ends,
weave in ends,
I do not like weaving in ends.

I will not weave them here or there
I will not weave them anywhere.
I do not like weaving in ends.
I do not like it no matter when.

Try it? Try it
and I may you say?

Say?! I do so like the ends weaved in.
I do so like them, my dear friend.

I will weave them Netflixing,
I will weave them while I sing.
I will weave them at the Y.
I will weave them til I die.

I do so like the ends weaved in.
I do so like them, yes, my friend.

In all seriousness I used to write good poetry. This is not it. But it is true: I do not like weaving in ends. I can’t imagine anyone does, but the end product is so worth it. I spent about five hours over the last two days weaving the ends on this blanket. I was determined not to post another “ends all over” picture.

To be honest, I’m not sure March came in like a lion. I’m not sure it came in like a lamb either. March was actually very unvaried as a whole. When you look at the picture of the entire blanket, there are yellows in January and February, even an orange. March was mostly the same.

March only has one yellow circle-one day above 55 degrees.

Look at all that green! I guess maybe that’s an homage to St. Patrick’s Day. We still had a bit of snow and rain. My muddy yard bears witness to that. Yet as I type right now, I hear thunder outside. Maybe it is truly spring after all!

I have had a couple of people ask about the size of my blanket. It is hard to tell the size by looking at the screen. Currently it is 42″ across and at seven rows, 17″ high.

Seventeen inches tall with seven rows.
With fifteen squares across, the blanket measures in at 42″ wide.

I am still absolutely loving this project. It is interesting to look at the weather patterns. I can read it like a map. Those who have the key, can read it, too.

Here’s my key:
