I have a friend who is a knitter. I want to introduce her to you through a project she did last year. Her name is Diana and she knit a Sky Scarf.
I wanted to share this for those of you who might be intimidated by the Temperature Blanket and the complexity of it. She committed to stopping life and looking at the sky once a day for a year. She knit two rows a day depending on the sky. Here’s what she had to say about her colors: “I did white for snow, gray for rain or overcast, variegated white and blue for mixed, and then three different colors of blue. One was more intense and was used more rarely, and one was lighter and captured that odd light blue that the sky is in winter. I also had a rainbow variegated I used when I saw rainbows. (I saw 4 last year).”
The pattern? She simply “knit 5 stitches in garter, 20 in stockinette, and another 5 in garter” per row. If it seems like the scarf would be long? It is! But she made it work.
What a beautiful project and story. Thanks for letting me share, Diana!
