As I’m working on the pattern for the Circus Star Blanket, I’ve decided to run it as a Crochet Along. It will be four weeks long and start with the first pattern next Monday, March 12.
Here’s my prototype:
The pattern we will be working on has some changes made to fix the buckling in the middle. I think you’ll be happy with this pattern. Plus, the entire blanket will only cost $10 to make!
This blanket uses basic techniques, so even the beginner should be able to work it up. There is a Facebook event where you can ask questions and post pictures of your work.
Here’s what you need to get started: 2 skeins of Lion Brand Mandala yarn (I get mine at Walmart for $5 a skein) and an H-hook. My sample colorway was done in Lion Brand Mandala Baby in the Atlantis colorway. The yarn I will be using for the pattern is regular Mandala in Pegasus.
Before Monday, you need to divide the colors. (I know, the whole point of this yarn is that you don’t have to weave in ends! It is still worth it.) This will give you control over the color variations.
Once you get your yarn rolled, you are ready for the first section of the pattern on Monday! See you then.
