Works-s-s-s in Progress

I used to be one of those people who couldn’t read more than one book at a time. I wanted to enjoy the book from beginning to end and not muddle the story with another work.

Alas.

While I still prefer that method for books, I have a pile of crochet projects awaiting finishing. These are the ones sitting by my seat in the living room, but by no means all of the projects throughout the house. There’s the 2016 Moogly CAL waiting to be sewn together. There’s the cute fox basket kit that my mom gave me that is waiting to become something more than a white bin. There’s the birthday/Christmas/birthday present for my daughter that’s in the bottom of the guest room closet. Anyway. You get the idea.

Here’s what I’m working on:

Teen Ripple Blanket

The neon-ness of this yarn doesn’t quite show up in the picture. I’m using Kai yarn by Loops and Threads in Pink Lemonade. I absolutely love this yarn. It is super soft. I didn’t expect it to be neon when I purchased it, but knew it was the perfect color for older kids and teens. I’ve been wanting to add some teen blankets to my repertoire, so this is perfect.

I found a pattern for the 6-Day Kid Blanket on Ravelry. I’ve been wanting to try a granny ripple for a while and this one has great character. Plus, the pattern works well with the automatic color changes of this yarn.

While I work on this project at home, it is perfect to take with me during the kids swimming lessons, since I don’t have to worry about color changes. It always gets a plastic bag there since, you know, pools are wet.

Deco Baby Blanket

This is a blanket I started working on yesterday since I had a new Colorway of Lion Brand Mandala Baby just sitting around. This blanket is a work in progress. It’s going from a circle to a hexagon and hopefully to a square. I’m excited to see where it ends up.

Lilliana Blanket

This project was originally a Crochet Along, but I wasn’t part of it. Now all eleven parts are downloadable on Ravelry. I fell in love with this neutral color palette while doing another project, and I searched for the perfect pattern for it. Mandalas are beautiful as they change colors almost every row. There is a lot of room for interpretation on the color changes, but the one thing every mandala has is an intricate pattern. I’m sure mine has tons of mistakes in it, but if you can’t find them, I’m not going to point them out to you.

I’m currently on part 6 of 11, and my blanket is about a 36″ square. I’m guessing it’s final measurements will be between four and five feet. Unlike most projects, I’m pretty sure I’m keeping this one. Unless the right person comes around who needs it, that is.

Temperature Blanket

You’ve seen this one before. This one will be in progress until Dec. 31, and probably longer. If you want to see more of this blanket, you can look in the menu section of the website. I’m excited because today I get to add a new color. We had a record high temperature yesterday!

Moogly CAL

This is the third square of 24. Patterns are released every two weeks through mid-November leaving enough time to put the blanket together before the end of the year. This is my third year participating in this Crochet Along. Their Facebook page has hit more than 13,000 members. It is neat to see all of the different color choices and how different color placement changes the look of the square.

That’s what’s on my hook right now. What’s on yours? I’d love to see pictures in the comments.
