I was inspired by others in the Moogly Crochet Along group who chose to do their entire afghans in a single color. I love color, so I don’t normally tend toward a monotone palette, but what really stood out were the different textures. When not distracted by colors, each row is actually a little more defined.
Well, with two weeks between the release dates of the Moogly squares, I decided to pick up some yarn (because, you know, I have tons of it lying around) and give it a go. I started with the first Moogly square and then the second. After that, I decided to check out the squares that I didn’t do from last years CAL since I quit early, then I added a few others. All of the squares measure about 12″ square. I used Vanna’s Choice in Beige and a J-hook.
The next step will be joining the squares, which I hope to do tonight as part of “The Week of Finished Projects.” Below are pictures of each of the nine squares I chose for this lap blanket. If you click on the picture, it will take you to the pattern. Which do you like best?
