MY YARN ARRIVED!!! I couldn’t be more excited unless it was January 1 and I could actually start this thing.
There have been many questions about how this is going to work. First of all, I have assigned every color to a range of temperatures, assuming this area has temps from 0-100 degrees Fahrenheit.
It does seem fitting that I would go with the gray for all of the cloudy Western Pennsylvania days, but then it would basically be a gray blanket for half of the year! So, the gray is just the background color.
I’m going to do a square for each day. Something like this.
If it rains or snows, the inner circle will be blue or white. If not, I will just use the high temperature for that day. Then the next two rounds will correspond to the high temperature that day. The circles will be squared off and joined with the gray.
At 365 days in a year, I have chosen the blanket to be 15 squares by 25 squares. I purchased a light weight yarn in order to keep the size manageable. I’m hoping each square will be no more than 3 or 4 inches. That makes the total blanket size around 60″x100″. I’m hoping it won’t be too crazy big or wonky.
I hope this post better explains my plans. I can’t wait to get started!
