I know what you’re thinking: Crochet Water Balloons? Is that even a thing?
Apparently it is.
And when you see a pattern for Crochet Water Balloons, you make them.
I made a set of eight. They are made of Bernat Blanket Yarn which is very thick and soaks up a ton of water.
We tried the balloons at the beach. Sand is a bad idea, but on the plus side, they can still be washed and dried and come out as good as new.
In the kiddie pool, they provided much enjoyment. My kids played with them for a while. They beamed them at each other, they squeezed them out over each others’ heads. Just like water balloons, if you throw them hard, they can hurt. They don’t pop, but they do hold lots of water.
The verdict: Make them. And have fun.
My kids did.
