I decided that the best place to start in the crochet one-skein wonders book was the first pattern. This pattern is called the Blooming Blossom Coaster Set designed by Melinda Miller.
Projects finished: 1/101
Yarn weight: Thread
Difficulty: 3/10
Time spent: 20 minutes per coaster.
Since the point of this project is to use up yarn I have around the house, I thought this was perfect. I had a ball of thread yarn that I had gotten for free at a church yard a couple of years ago that was just sitting in the garage. I picked it up, grabbed the appropriately sized hook, and got started.
Each coaster is relatively easy to make, but using thread takes a little getting used to. The stitches aren’t nearly as forgiving as yarn and the small stitches can sometimes be hard to crochet into.
I only made two coasters, but based on the thread I have left over, I could probably make at least 50 more!
