It’s a good day when I finish a project. I’m not one of those people who works from start to finish on only one thing. Sometimes projects get finished right away. Sometimes they get started, put aside, and almost forgotten.
This one, which I’m calling my Minion blanket, was finished in under a week. There are only a few hard and fast rules when it comes to crocheting, and one of them is: always buy the clearance yarn. I found both of these colors majorly marked down last weekend when I was at the yarn store. Thankfully I remembered another crocheting rule: always buy enough yarn to complete the project. I often do a horrible job on this, but this time I even have a little left over.
This pattern is a twelve-point star and it works up quickly and is very easy to follow. The pattern is Rainbow Ripple Baby Blanket by Celeste Young and can be found on Ravelry. This blanket was worked with three skeins of Snuggly Wuggly Dip Dye baby yarn from Loops & Threads in Daffodils and a partial skein of Snuggly Wuggly baby yarn in Blue Yonder. I love the different shades in the Daffodils yarn that gives the color a lot of depth and just enough white to make it even more Minion-y.
This pattern is quite versatile and I’ve used it a few times to make blankets in different color schemes.
Have you ever used this pattern? I’d love to see pictures.
